About the Role

What we are looking for: 

The primary purpose of this position is to manage and oversee venue experience activities across all cultural and community facilities, ensuring alignment with Greater Dandenong's operational goals. This role focuses on achieving operational excellence by maintaining high standards for safety, customer service, and visitor satisfaction, while optimising venue performance. The position supports the Council’s community and cultural objectives by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding

  • Manage and oversee venue experience activities across all cultural and community venues, ensuring consistent service delivery and operational excellence across all venues by coordinating activities, sharing best practices, and aligning efforts with Council goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including attendance, sales, and inventory, using data to improve visitor experiences and optimise venue hire processes.
  • Coordinate scheduling, staff training, budgeting, and resource allocation, and prepare reports on visitor numbers, sales, and event outcomes.
  • Apply customer-focused strategies to ensure an excellent customer experience is delivered at all times, including investigating and resolving client issues, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the primary contact for venue services, ensuring effective communication and engagement, including supporting community and council functions to facilitate successful events.
  • Proactively address operational challenges and develop contingency plans to maintain service continuity during unforeseen issues.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a current Victorian Driver's license, produce a clear Working with Children Check, hold an ongoing Provide First Aid Certificate and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
