About the role

Positioned within the Sport & Recreation department, the Sport Facilities Officer will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of Council’s sport facilities and infrastructure, ensuring facilities are welcoming, functional and fit-for-purpose for use by community sports clubs and groups. You will provide outstanding customer service and communication with sports clubs and build strong working relationships with internal Council teams.

Your primary purpose in this position is to manage the smooth use and operation of Council’s outdoor sports pavilions and infrastructure, including buildings, floodlighting, cricket nets, baseball cages, athletics tracks and fencing.

About you

You will bring experience in sport or recreation facility maintenance and operations, with a proven ability to prioritise, problem solve and multi-task.

A team-player with the ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders, your outstanding communications skills will enable you to foster strong relations with a wide variety of people.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
