About the role
Shape the future of one of Victoria’s fastest‑growing, most diverse cities -As Senior Economic Development Officer – Investment Attraction & Special Projects, you’ll lead high‑impact initiatives, build strategic partnerships and position Greater Dandenong as investment‑ready. This senior economic development role leads Council’s investment attraction activities through active pipeline management, development facilitation and targeted strategic projects that drive employment and economic growth.
This position plays a critical role in cultivating strategic relationships with investors, industry and government, delivering market‑led insights that influence investment decisions and position the City as a compelling, investment‑ready destination.
About you
You are a commercially astute and collaborative professional with strong advocacy and relationship‑building skills. You understand the interface between public policy, planning and private sector investment decisions, and you thrive in complex, cross‑organisational environments.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Economic Development, Business Development, Planning or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in investment attraction, development facilitation and economic development
- Strong skills in economic and market analysis, strategic relationship management and strategic project delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to represent Council in forums and briefings and prepare high‑quality reports and presentations
