Are you passionate about transforming urban spaces into vibrant, inclusive, and thriving destinations? The City of Greater Dandenong is seeking a dynamic and creative Placemaking and Revitalisation Officer to help shape the future of our key activity centres—Dandenong, Springvale, and Noble Park.

About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in delivering the Placemaking and Revitalisation Program and implementing strategic initiatives outlined in the new Economy and Place Strategy. You will work collaboratively to activate public spaces, strengthen community identity, and enhance the appeal of our city’s most important precincts.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the implementation of the Placemaking and Revitalisation Program across Dandenong, Springvale, and Noble Park.

· Design and deliver strategic placemaking plans and initiatives aligned with the Economy and Place Strategy.

· Collaborate with the Coordinator Placemaking and Revitalisation and internal teams to develop and execute impactful programs and projects.

· Foster resilient, connected communities and a strong sense of place through inclusive and creative placemaking.

· Drive increased visitation and economic activity by transforming activity centres into attractive, people-focused destinations.

· Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve placemaking initiatives to ensure long-term success and sustainability.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the below:

· Tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Economic Development or a related field.

· Proven experience in placemaking, precinct planning, or public realm revitalisation.

· Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Creative thinker with a passion for community-led design and activation.

· Excellent communication and visual presentation abilities.
