The ideal candidate will have strong management and leadership experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary, community-based organisation.

You will have a proven track record of successful change management and a positive can do attitude for shaping the future of Community Arts, Culture and Libraries during a period of change.

You will lead by example, demonstrating and implementing Council's core character principles of respect, engagement, accountability, creativity and honesty.

As a key position in the Community Strengthening Directorate, and reporting into the Director of Community Strengthening, you will be responsible for the library services, drum theatre, cultural, historic and contemporary civic facilities, arts and cultural development, and community precincts strategic operations.

The main functions of this role include:

  • Leading and managing the provision of services within your stream
  • Driving change and innovation through a period of change
  • Motivating and inspiring a large, committed team of people across multi-disciplinary functions in the delivery of quality services for people
  • Engaging with the community, government agencies, external organisations

To be successful in this role you will have the energy and adaptability to juggle, prioritise and reprioritise within a changing environment.
