About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated project professional to join the Governance, Integrity, Legal and Risk team as a Legal Management Project Officer.
This newly created 18-month position will lead the implementation of Council's future legal services operating model, a strategic organisational reform designed to strengthen legal governance, improve risk management, enhance knowledge retention and establish Council's first in-house legal function.
Reporting to the Manager Governance, Integrity, Legal and Risk, you will coordinate a broad range of project activities including:
- Developing and managing project plans, schedules, milestones and reporting frameworks.
- Designing and implementing governance frameworks, procedures and business rules.
- Establishing legal instruction, approval and triage processes.
- Developing a centralised legal advice repository and information management framework.
- Coordinating the migration of historical legal records and advice.
- Leading stakeholder engagement, communication and change management activities.
- Supporting the integration of Council's new General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel roles into the organisation.

About You
You are a collaborative and highly organised project professional who enjoys improving systems, building stakeholder relationships and driving meaningful organisational change.
You will bring:
- Relevant qualifications in project management, public administration, law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects, programs or business improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, procedures and operational processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefings and project documentation.
- Experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Experience supporting organisational change and adoption of new ways of working.
- Experience using project management, document management and business systems to support effective project delivery.
Experience in governance, legal services, compliance, risk management or local government environments will be highly regarded.
