About the role

What we are looking for: 

The OD Team is seeking an organised, motivated and people-focused HR professional to help deliver efficient, people-centred HR support to the City of Greater Dandenong.

The position will primarily be responsible for supporting the organisation to recruit to available job openings through the recruitment and onboarding of employees in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and to provide administrative support to the OD Team.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the below:

You need these essential qualifications (or experience), knowledge and skills to carry out this position

  • Degree or Diploma qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline or alternatively through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills, or through relevant experience and work skills commensurate with the requirements of the role.
    Relevant skills, knowledge and work experience includes:
  • Demonstrated experience in a human resources with sound knowledge of HR functions
  • Sound interpersonal, written communication skills to support all levels of the organisation to comply with Council’s Recruitment and Selection processes and prepare external correspondence and write reports in their field of expertise.
  • Proven ability to support the development and implementation of efficient HR recruitment systems and procedures
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well developed problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service to employees and stakeholders

The successful candidate will be asked to provide evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Greater Dandenong registered as the organisation) and will be asked to consent to a National Police Check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
