  • Part Time (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Applicants must have availability across five days per week. Increases beyond three days will be rostered in line with business needs.

Greater Dandenong City Council is seeking a motivated and customer‑focused professional to join our Customer Service team on a part‑time basis. As a first point of contact, you will play a critical role in supporting customers across all service channels, including telephone, face‑to‑face and online interactions.

Greater Dandenong is one of Victoria’s most culturally and linguistically diverse municipalities. Success in this role requires outstanding verbal and written communication skills, the ability to explain information clearly and patiently, and a high level of empathy when assisting customers with varying needs and levels of understanding.

We are seeking a flexible, energetic and detail‑oriented individual who is committed to delivering consistently high‑quality customer service to our diverse community.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

Key Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a confident manner
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to meaningfully engage with customers from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and concepts
  • Ability to learn quickly and think on your feet
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain complex information in plain language that is easily understood by customers
  • Fluency in a second language relevant to the community of Greater Dandenong is highly regarded
  • Driver’s license is not required, but the ability to attend various worksites at short notice is necessary

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked toconsent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
