About the role
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Coordinator of Children's Services in ensuring Council-managed and supported early years facilities are safe, compliant, and aligned with current and future community needs. This position supports infrastructure planning and asset management for kindergartens and childcare centres, contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality environments for early childhood education and care.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the below:

· Relevant qualifications and/or experience in infrastructure, facilities management, early years planning or a related field.
Key responsibilities include:
· The officer will provide oversight of maintenance schedules, building audits, and compliance with legislative and licensing standards. They will lead coordination between internal Council departments - including infrastructure, property, and capital works - and external stakeholders such as the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), Department of Education, and kindergarten service providers.
· The officer must collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and drive initiatives that position Greater Dandenong as a leader in providing fit-for-purpose early years environments.
· Support the Coordinator in grant applications and policy framework reviews.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.
The successful candidate will be asked to provide evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Greater Dandenong registered as the organisation), valid (and ongoing) Victorian Driver’s Licence and will be asked to consent to a National Police Check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
